24 November 2025 – 1950s retro wallpaper
Whilst we were reorganising and emptying out some of our longer term storage boxes in Bedroom 2 we decided that whilst the wall was available we would strip off the heavily textured purple painted Anaglypta wall paper to check on the condition of the stud wall underneath – it couldn’t possibly be worse than that… could it… ??
Oh dear – we certainly weren’t expecting gloss blue painted block effect paper – this stuff is SOLID and will liekly be a nightmare to remove. An added bonus is that whoever put up varois fittings in teh bathroom (which backs onto this wall), also managed to drill straight through both sides of the wall panelling into this room and we can now see the base of a few rawl plugs sticking through….
