Griffin – Located in Swithland. One of our favourite spots for Sunday lunch, seating in either the large open plan dining room or a more traditional pub setting are available. Owned by former England and Nottinghamshire cricketers Stuart Broad and Harry Gurney, and winner of Pub of the year in 2023 and 2024 in Leicestershire.Link
John Dory’s – based in Quorn, this is probably one of the best Fish and Chip shops we have ever found – Restaurant and take out available.Link
John’s House – Yes – Mountsorrel has a Michelin starred restaurant run by chef John Duffin featuring both lunch and a 7 course tasting menu!Link
Kilo Wine Bar – Located in Quorn, this lovely little wine bar has a good light bite menu, freshly made cakes and of course a huge selection of wines (specialising in Italian).Link
RKD (Rustic Kitchen and Deli) – Temporarily closed after a fire in late 2024 – hopefully open again before Christmas 2025.Link
Spice Cube – Contempory Indian Cuisine with a new menu driven by fresh quality ingredients due very soon.Link
The Woodies (The Woodman’s Stroke) – A classic English country pub in Rothley, with a lunch menu aimed squarly at pub classics plus sandwiches and toasties.Link

Clarkes of Queniborough – Award winning butcher and deli specialisig in locally reared and grown produce. Going strong since 1982.Link
David North’s Deli of Rothley, not to mention cakes! 🙂 (Did we mention the cakes?).Link

Pinsent’s (Wilfred Pinsent’s and Grandson) – A small and cosy bar specialising in unusual beers, formerly an off-licence bottle shop, a huge array of bottled, beers, wines and ciders is still available.Link
The Sorrel Fox – Charwood Brewery owned and run, this was their very first micro-pub. Featuring the regular Charnwood Brewary beers on tap and an ever changing “Guest” brew. Food is limited to “English Tapas” (Sausage rolls etc.) and bar snacks.Link
The Swan Inn – The home of Soar Brewery. A former 17th century coaching inn (previously called the Nag’s head), this pub has been a stopping place on the main road through town for centuries – a large selection of drinks on tap and bar snacks.Link
